Senior Industrial Hygiene Project Manager

Overview:

The Senior Industrial Hygiene Project Manager role exists to ensure that industrial hygiene projects are not only executed well, but led well.

In this role, you are responsible for managing consultants within projects: assigning work, guiding technical approach, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring consistency in quality, communication, and judgment across the team. You are accountable not just for your own output, but for how others perform under your direction and how the project shows up to the client.

Senior Project Managers take on more complex projects and higher-risk decisions, but their greatest impact is leverage. By coaching consultants in real time—during scoping, field execution, data interpretation, and reporting—you elevate both the work and the people doing it. You set expectations, course-correct when needed, and ensure projects reflect SevenGen’s standards, not just individual effort.

If you are ready to lead work through others, take responsibility for developing consultants while delivering complex industrial hygiene projects, and serve as a steady technical and project presence, this role offers both the trust and the responsibility to do exactly that.

What You’ll Do at SevenGen:

  • Lead Projects Through People
    • Serve as the project lead for complex industrial hygiene engagements, directing work through consultants and project managers.
    • Assign work, set expectations, and guide technical approach across project teams.
    • Review field execution, data interpretation, and deliverables to ensure consistency, defensibility, and quality.
    • Step in when projects encounter complexity, ambiguity, or elevated risk—and make sound judgment calls.
    • Provide technical reviews
  • Own the Client Experience
    • Act as a trusted technical and project leader for clients, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and follow-through throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Translate regulatory and exposure assessment requirements into practical, business-relevant recommendations.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on scope, on budget, and on time—without sacrificing technical rigor.
    • Partner with Account Managers and leadership to align project execution with broader client needs and expectations.
  • Set the Standard for Quality
    • Lead mid-level to complex industrial hygiene projects across a range of manufacturing environments.
    • Apply advanced understanding of exposure assessment, engineering controls, ventilation, toxicology, and risk evaluation.
    • Ensure OSHA health standards and industry guidance are applied appropriately and consistently.
    • Review and approve technical work products, serving as a quality checkpoint for the practice.
  • Develop Consultants Within the Work
    • Coach consultants and project managers in real time—during scoping, field work, analysis, and reporting.
    • Provide clear, actionable feedback that improves both technical skill and consulting judgment.
    • Build capability across the team by modeling strong decision-making, communication, and accountability.
    • Create consistency in how work is executed regardless of who is assigned to the project.
  • Contribute to Culture and Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and work products.
    • Participate actively in department planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
    • Support the growth of SevenGen’s Industrial Hygiene practice by protecting quality at scale.
    • Grow through lifelong learning and maintain your certification

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
  • Typically 5–10 years of progressive industrial hygiene experience.
  • CIH certification in good standing (or equivalent experience, where applicable).
  • Broad, working knowledge of OSHA health regulations (29 CFR 1910), exposure assessment strategies, and industrial hygiene best practices.
  • Experience leading complex projects across multiple hazards and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage time, priorities, and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel up to ~40–50%
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking systems

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Are comfortable having candid, constructive conversations that build trust and drive growth.
  • Show up for our team and clients, own your work, adapt to others’ needs to help them succeed.
  • Empower clients and team members by sharing knowledge generously, and offering insights that help others grow, understand, and succeed.
  • Surprise and delight by doing the unasked: solve problems before they arise, add thoughtful touches to your work and interactions, and make clients and teammates feel genuinely valued.
  • Embrace feedback and mistakes as tools for growth, listen openly, reflect without defensiveness, and treat every challenge as a chance to learn and improve.
  • Pursue 1% growth every day, explore your world and interactions with curiosity, seek out learning beyond work, and choose to improve in leadership and technical craft.
  • Advocate and recruit for excellence by contributing to a healthy team culture, speak directly, surface issues early, and bring concerns into conversations where resolution and improvement are the goal.
  • Celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of our team often, both publicly and privately.
