Overview:
This role is for an industrial hygienist who is deeply committed to their craft, takes pride in developing others, and wants to contribute to a team where high standards and people-first leadership go hand in hand.
In this role, you serve as a technical authority and a visible leader—someone who can assess complex exposure scenarios, design thoughtful solutions, and communicate clearly with both clients and internal teams. You lead by example, not by title, and your influence shows up in the quality of the work, the confidence of the team, and the strength of client relationships.
This role bridges execution and strategy. You remain close to the technical work while also contributing to account growth, service innovation, and the long-term maturity of SevenGen’s Industrial Hygiene practice.
If you are motivated by mastery, impact, and the opportunity to shape the work beyond your own deliverables, this role offers both the autonomy and responsibility to do exactly that.
What You’ll Do at SevenGen:
- Serve as a Technical Authority
- Lead complex, high-level industrial hygiene assessments across diverse manufacturing environments.
- Apply advanced expertise in exposure assessment, toxicology, engineering controls, ventilation, and risk evaluation.
- Interpret OSHA health standards and industry guidance to identify risk and develop practical, defensible recommendations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for clients and internal teams.
- Lead Complex Work and Solutions
- Scope, plan, and execute sophisticated IH projects using SevenGen’s Proven Process.
- Serve as Project Manager on assigned projects and oversee execution through ClickUp.
- Review and elevate technical work products to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality.
- Step in where projects require deeper judgment or specialized expertise.
- Own and Grow Client Relationships
- Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, providing insight beyond the immediate scope of work.
- Manage strategic accounts, conducting regular check-ins and service evaluations.
- Identify opportunities to expand services thoughtfully and in alignment with client needs.
- Represent SevenGen with credibility and professionalism in high-stakes client interactions.
- Develop People Through the Work
- Lead and mentor consultants, project managers, and senior project managers within projects and accounts.
- Assign work based on skill, capacity, and development goals.
- Provide clear feedback that strengthens technical skill, consulting judgment, and confidence.
- Partner with Talent to support development, goal setting, and growth pathways.
- Advance the Practice
- Support the Director of Industrial Hygiene in shaping departmental strategy and priorities.
- Monitor regulatory trends, emerging risks, and new technologies.
- Contribute to service innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build your professional brand through publication, speaking, and leadership engagement within professional associations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
- CIH or other board-accredited certification in good standing.
- Typically 7+ years of progressive industrial hygiene experience.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise across multiple IH disciplines.
- Leadership & Influence
- Experience leading complex work and guiding others through it.
- Ability to manage projects, accounts, and teams without relying on formal authority alone.
- Strong coaching mindset with a track record of developing other professionals.
- Comfort operating at the intersection of technical depth and client strategy.
- Client & Communication Strength
- Trusted, credible presence with clients.
- Ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable guidance.
- Strong written communication, particularly in technical reports and recommendations.
- Professional Discipline
- Strong organizational and time-management skills across multiple concurrent priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to ~30%.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management systems.
- High level of accountability and follow-through.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Are comfortable having candid, constructive conversations that build trust and drive growth.
- Show up for our team and clients, own your work, adapt to others’ needs to help them succeed.
- Empower clients and team members by sharing knowledge generously, and offering insights that help others grow, understand, and succeed.
- Surprise and delight by doing the unasked: solve problems before they arise, add thoughtful touches to your work and interactions, and make clients and teammates feel genuinely valued.
- Embrace feedback and mistakes as tools for growth, listen openly, reflect without defensiveness, and treat every challenge as a chance to learn and improve.
- Pursue 1% growth every day, explore your world and interactions with curiosity, seek out learning beyond work, and choose to improve in leadership and technical craft.
- Advocate and recruit for excellence by contributing to a healthy team culture, speak directly, surface issues early, and bring concerns into conversations where resolution and improvement are the goal.
- Celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of our team often, both publicly and privately.
