Overview:
At SevenGen, Environmental Consultants build the technical foundation of their careers while contributing to work that protects communities, ecosystems, and businesses alike. This role is designed for early-career professionals who want to learn how strong environmental consulting is actually done—through exposure to real projects, thoughtful mentorship, and high expectations.
Environmental compliance only works when people understand the why behind the requirements. This role exists to develop consultants who can move beyond memorization and into judgment—learning how environmental regulations apply in real operating environments.
You’ll work alongside experienced consultants and project managers, gaining hands-on experience across air, water, waste, and sustainability projects while learning SevenGen’s Proven Process and consulting mindset.
This role is designed to grow with you. You’ll move from learning and supporting to executing independently to owning entry to mid-level projects, with clear expectations and coaching along the way.

- Communicate clearly, directly, and respectfully
- Support a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement
- Invest in Your Growth
- Participate actively in professional development and goal setting
- Build technical confidence, consulting judgment, and project reliability
- Seek feedback, apply it, and improve over time
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Entry-level to ~5 years of relevant experience
- Foundational knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time, priorities, and deadlines effectively
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Are comfortable having candid, constructive conversations that build trust and drive growth.
- Show up for our team and clients, own your work, adapt to others’ needs to help them succeed.
- Empower clients and team members by sharing knowledge generously, and offering insights that help others grow, understand, and succeed.
- Surprise and delight by doing the unasked: solve problems before they arise, add thoughtful touches to your work and interactions, and make clients and teammates feel genuinely valued.
- Embrace feedback and mistakes as tools for growth, listen openly, reflect without defensiveness, and treat every challenge as a chance to learn and improve.
- Pursue 1% growth every day, explore your world and interactions with curiosity, seek out learning beyond work, and choose to improve in leadership and technical craft.
- Advocate and recruit for excellence by contributing to a healthy team culture, speak directly, surface issues early, and bring concerns into conversations where resolution and improvement are the goal.
